Arnold, 55, of Sparta died Saturday, February 27, 2010 in his home. He was born on November 30, 1954 in Sparta to Kleo and Myrtle (Hodgkins) Arnold. He grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School in 1972. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served active duty for three years. He continued his military service with the 107<sup>th</sup> Maintenance Company. He was called to active duty on September 20, 1990 and served in Operation Desert Shield. Tom retired from the National Guard in April of 1992.</p>
<p>     He worked at Fort McCoy for 29 years and also worked for Shine Brite Cleaners.</p>
<p>     Tom was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was loved by all who knew him. He lived his life with lots of love, laughter, fishing, and music. He enjoyed every minute that was spent with the children of the family and enjoyed teaching them songs to sing and playing instruments. He also enjoyed and loved all his family and friends when all were together in music and fun.</p>
<p>     He is survived by his wife, Theresa Arnold of Sparta, his son, JD; his daughter, Stacy her fiance,  Louis Fink, their two children, Lucy and Louie III; Cailyn Danick and Lillian Arnold who adopted him as gramp uncle Tom; five sisters; five brothers.</p>
<p>     He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; two brothers and other family and friends.</p>
<p>     Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta. Burial with full military honors provided by V.F.W. Post 2112 and American Legion Post 100 will be in the Leon Cemetery, Leon.</p>
<p>     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.</p>
<p>     The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.</p>

<p>     Carol H. Erickson, 70, of Sparta, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Time For Ease, Sparta. She was born on May 22, 1939 in the Town of Little Falls, Monroe County, Wisconsin to Harold and Lilah (Bornitz) Storandt.</p>
<p>     She grew up in the Little Falls area. Carol married LeRoy E. Erickson on March 8, 1958 in Sparta. They lived their entire married lives in Sparta. She worked at Fort Mc Coy and then worked at the Tomah Veterans Administration Medical Center in the Food Service and Housekeeping for 25 years. She retired in 1995. Le Roy passed away on July 29, 2000.</p>
<p>     Carol moved to Janesville in 2003 and moved back to Sparta in 2006. She became a resident at Time for Ease in September 2009. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, music, watching football, and birdwatching. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and spending time with her extra special friend, Wayne Calkins.</p>
<p>     Carol is survived by her children, Rick Erickson of Sparta, Ronda (Paul) Lavold of West Salem, Robin Erickson of West Salem, Ryan Erickson of Sparta, Lee (Tina) Erickson of West Salem; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, June Engen of Janesville, Valerie Isensee of Sparta, Marla (Nick) Carlone of Sparta, and her special companion, Wayne Calkins of Sparta.</p>
<p>     In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Rayner, a great grandson, Jayden, and a brother, David.</p>
<p>     Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Reverend Mark Wessel officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.</p>
<p>     Family and friends are invited to call at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Online condolences may be offered at www.lanham-miller.com</p>

<p>     Karl E. Krueger, 62, of Sioux Falls, SD and formerly of Sparta, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in Omaha, NE as a result of a trucking accident. He was born on March 12, 1947 in La Crosse, WI to Harold and Lucy (Schroeder) Krueger. He grew up in the Leon area and graduated from Sparta High School in 1965. He enlisted in the US Army on June 30, 1966. He served 13 years and had three tours during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1979. <br />
     Karl worked for Niedfeldt Trucking in La Crosse, Martin Trucking in Tomah, Hilleshiem Trucking in Sparta, and finally Roadway Yellow Trucking out of Chicago, IL and Sioux Falls. He married his wife, Alla from Russia in 2005. They later divorced. <br />
     Karl was very active politically and civically. He was the founder of the Deke Slayton Air Show in La Crosse. Being an aircraft enthusiast, he rarely missed the Oshkosh Air Show. He was very politically active, running for various offices and supporting his candidates. He was well known in political circles. He was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Association of Concerned Veterans Organization (WACVO), VFW, American Legion, and EAA. He was also an honorary Kentucky Colonel.<br />
     Karl is survived by his mother, Lucy of Sparta; brothers and sisters, Steve (Susie) Krueger of Norwalk, Tom (Chris) Krueger of San Antonio, TX, Susan (Paul) Kast of Mindoro, WI, and Daniel (Cindy) Krueger of La Crescent, MN; a daughter, Wendy (Bryan) Bernett of Sparta; step-daughter, Svitlana of Sioux Falls, SD; 2 grandchildren, Connor and Jarett Bernett; 5 nephews; 5 nieces; 2 great nieces; and 7 great nephews. <br />
     He was preceded in death by his father, Harold and a sister, Mary Kressin. <br />
      Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with Father James Leary OFM Cap officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by VFW 2112 and American Legion Post 100 will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sparta.</p>
<p>     Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. and at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.</p>

<p>     Mary “Meemaw” Ellen O’Brien, 71, of Sparta, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. She was born on February 25, 1938 in Lynwood, CA to Hazel Clara Butler. She grew up in the Southern California area.</p>
<p>     She married Edward Clifford Denese in 1955. They moved to the Washington DC area after Edward was discharged from the Navy. They later divorced. She lived in Maryland, Florida and then moved back to California.</p>
<p>     She worked for the State of California for approximately 18 years in the Office of Aids. She owned and operated “Critters and Such” in Sacramento, CA. She moved to Sparta in 1998. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of Victory Life Fellowship Church in Sparta.</p>
<p>     She is survived by her daughter, Staci (Charles) LeMay of Sparta; a son, John M. Denese of Palm Bay, FL; grandchildren, Becky (Tom Nee) Stahl, Chris Aguilar, Frank LeMay, Charles LeMay III, Amanda LeMay, Nicole Denese, and Maryann LeMay; great grandchildren, Joshua Stahl, Alexis Stahl, Kayla Stahl, Ayden Nee, Faith Nee, and Charles LeMay IV; many other relatives, church family, and friends.</p>
<p>     She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel; a brother, William O’Brien; and a sister, Margaret “Bonnie” Baker.</p>
<p>     Memorial services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Victory Life Fellowship Church, Sparta, with parking in the back of the church with Pastor Dale Centanni officiating.</p>
<p>     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, Onalaska, Dialysis Department or Helping Hands in Sparta.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>James L. Bell, 78 of Sparta, WI and formerly of Waukesha, WI died Friday, February 12, 2010 in his home. He was born on September 5, 1931 in Sparta to Theodore R. and Myrtle (Proctor) Bell Sr.</p>
<p>     He is survived by five sons, Joseph (Candice) Bell of Waukesha, Robert Bell of Waukesha, John (Connie) Bell of Waukesha, Linus Bell of Waukesha, James (Tracy) Bell of Waukesha; a daughter, Beth Bell of Waukesha; grandchildren, Kelly, Jeremiah, Nicholas, Jay, Zachary, Orion, Adam, Catrina, Melissa, Rebecca, Donald Jr., and Jake; a step-son, Scott Hart of Waukesha, and a sister, Mabel Herman of Sparta.</p>
<p>     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcie Bell; a sister, Bessie Shelmedine, and a brother, Theodore R. Bell Jr.</p>

Morgan, 88, of Sparta died Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. She was born on May 4, 1921 in the Town of Little Falls, near Cataract, Wisconsin to George L. and Marian (Christianson) Johnson. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1938.</p>
<p>     Bea graduated from Luther Hospital’s Registered Nursing program in Eau Claire, WI in 1943. She worked as a Registered Nurse in La Crosse, WI and Miami, FL until shortly before WWII ended in 1945.</p>
<p>     Beatrice married the love of her life, Harley S. Morgan, on Christmas Eve.,1945, soon after he returned from the South Pacific as the war ended. They raised four children on the Family Farm in Daneville. Bea was a 4-H leader in the 1960’s and worked as a nurse in Sparta for 28 years, she retired in 1983. She was active in the United Methodist Church in Cataract, attending services regularly until she was unable to do so. Later in retirement, both she and Harley traveled to Work Camps throughout the country helping to build churches. She enjoyed music, especially singing, and was a fine Alto. Bea has many friends and relatives who miss her dearly.</p>
<p>     She is survived by one sister, Norma Fenske (Johnson); a brother, Melvin G. (Marion) Johnson; a sister-in-law, Ada Johnson; four children, Connie Morgan of New Orleans, Gary Morgan of Madison, Kevin (Kaylene) Morgan of Maryland, Kaye (Paul) Ketterer of Monona; eight grandchildren, Ben Ketterer, Sobha Ketterer, Bethel Morgan Wiley, Luke  Morgan, Isaac Morgan, Moriah Morgan, Jedi Morgan, and Erica Morgan Ehlers, as well as three great grandchildren: Caleb, Titus and Nathan Wiley.</p>
<p>     She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marian Johnson; two brothers, Malcolm Johnson, Allan Johnson, and her husband, Harley S. Morgan on December 28, 2003</p>
<p>     Memorial services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Cataract with Reverend Lon Jury officiating. Burial will be in the Cataract Cemetery, Cataract.</p>
<p>     Friends may greet family and honor Beatrice on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.      In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church, Cataract in Bea’s name.</p>

She was born on February 2, 1935 in La Crosse, WI to Michael and Alvina (Humm) Burzinski. She grew up in La Crosse and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1953.</p>
<p>     She married Curtis Libke on June 20, 1953 in La Crosse. After marriage, they lived in La Crosse and farmed in the Bangor area. Marianne worked for Jack Winter and then for Desmonds Formal Wear in La Crosse. They moved to Sparta in the early 1980’s. Curtis passed away on February 5, 2007.</p>
<p>     Marianne was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the La Crosse County Extension Homemakers.</p>
<p>     She is survived by her children, LaVern (Patty) Libke of Hazelhurst, WI, Diana Libke of Janesville, WI, Ronald Libke of Sparta, David (Penny) Libke of Anniston, AL, Edward Libke of Kodiak, AK, and Janice (Greg) Meyer of San Dimas, CA; 11 grandchildren, Lesley Libke, Nicole (Sean) Jackson, Summer Bergh, Jon Bergh, Steven (Amber) Libke, Michael Libke, Thomas Libke, Matthew (Genelle) Meyer, Christopher Meyer, Andrew (Nachel) Meyer, and Melissa Beyer; 9 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Saxton, Trinity, Natalia, Saniyah, Adrianna, Jamie, Chase, and Dylan; a brother, Robert (Joyce) Burzinski of La Crosse; and nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>     In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Ronald “Dick” Burzinski and James Burzinski.</p>
<p>     Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend Matthew Toso officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse.</p>
<p>     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of services. </p>
<p>   The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta is assisting the family with arrangements.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Evangeline G. Hall, 73, of Viroqua died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. She was born on January 12, 1937 in La Crosse, WI to Orie and Gladys (Bricko) Cravens. She grew up in La Crosse and graduated from Central High School. She married Douglas Hall. After marriage they lived in Moreno Valley, CA. Evangeline worked for Security Pacific Bank and retired from Bank of America after working for 40 years.</p>
<p>     She enjoyed traveling and Nascar Races.</p>
<p>     She is survived by her husband, Douglas Hall of Viroqua; a daughter, Karen (Wendell) Harker of Las Vegas, NV; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Jo Hall of Branson, MO; two grandchildren, Nick Martin, Kenny Martin; three great grandchildren; a sister, Rosella Yeske of La Crosse; four brothers, Frank (Liz) Cravens of Utah, Tim Cravens of La Crosse, Richard Cravens of Sparta, Gene Cravens of Sparta.</p>
<p>     She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary L. Hall, and a brother, George Cravens.</p>
<p>     Memorial services will be Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Douglas Brandt officiating.</p>
<p>     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 10 a.m. until the time of services. </p>

<p>     Jane F. Musbach, 73, of Sparta died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse. She was born on December 1, 1936 in Columbus, Wisconsin. She grew up in Waupun, WI.</p>
<p>     She was united in marriage to Donald Musbach on October 9, 1954 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington, WI. They lived in Grafton, WI and moved to Norwalk, WI in 1976. They later separated, she then moved to Sparta.</p>
<p>     Jane loved dancing, spending time with her family, collecting Pillsbury Doughboys, snowmen, frogs, and Santa figurines.</p>
<p>     She is survived by her children, Michael Musbach of Sparta; Melody (Harold) Cleveland of Sparta, Monica (Greg) Fortun of Sparta, Marcy (special friend, Sandy Loesing) Musbach of Neenah, WI, Mindy (Pete) Bullen of Sparta; grandchildren, Ryan Bullen, Tyler Fortun, and Jessi Fortun; a great granddaughter, Claire; special friend, Melvin Johnson of Sparta; two sisters, Sandra (Jim) Heuser of West Bend, WI, Eunice (Frank) Didier of Arkdale; a sister-in-law, Sandy Weiland of Clintonville, WI; numerous nieces, and nephews.</p>
<p>     She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Eleanor (Brooks) Weiland, and a brother, Hugo Weiland Jr.</p>
<p>     Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta. Burial will be in the Rockland Cemetery, Rockland.</p>
<p>     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. </p>
